3. Fair Warning: 3 fundraising requests ahead: A. Wildwater . B .Eichfeld/Powell C. Although USACK only occasionally...

A. I received the following John Pinyerd request through the wildwater listserv, and thought I should pass it along:

USA Wildwater needs your help. With the Junior Worlds coming to the USA, 2007 is a pivotal year for Wildwater and we MUST find a way to finance both the Senior and Junior Teams.

While we have several areas that a person can sponsor, the most critical need is to be able to fund very modest low-cost housing for our teams like we have done the past two seasons. Team housing is critical because it helps our Team performance (by keep our athletes from having to camp out) and keeps our Team together and functioning as a Team.

So I am calling you for your help in supporting the Team housing for the Senior (World Cup) Team and the Junior (World Championship) Team. Other areas needing sponsorship are coaching and the performance fund (but feel free to sponsor any area). For the details, please see the 2007 budget at:
http://www.usawildwater.com/news/2007/070419_2007_USACK_WWC_Budget_Summary.pdf)

The easiest way to help us is to send your Tax Deductible Donation to the USA Wildwater Team at the address below. Checks should be made out to USA Canoe/Kayak (or USACK) and earmarked for Wildwater.

Please let me know your questions and thoughts.

B. Keech LeClair has written a letter to all C-2 slalom paddlers, available through the link below. Keech and Ann LeClair are serving as managers and coaches for the Eichfeld/Powell team, and I know are putting a lot of volunteer time into this:

C. Although USA Canoe and Kayak only very occasionally puts out requests for fundraising, I also know that they are not swimming in cash these days (to put it mildly). Although you cannot specify an athlete recipient, you can specify general event (e.g. slalom or wildwater, or junior, or development, etc.). You can reach them at USACK, 301 S. Tryon St., Suite 1750, Charlotte, NC 28282
